How do I create a dashboard and add a chart or tile?

Section titled “How do I create a dashboard and add a chart or tile?”

To create a dashboard: open Experiences, choose “New”, pick Dashboard, give it a name and choose “Create and open”. Add a chart or tile by chatting: describe what you want to see (“What do you want to see?”), for example the revenue per month, and the assistant puts the tiles on the canvas. It uses the figures your organisation agreed on and never types a number itself. Use “Keep” or “Undo all” on what it changed. Choose “Edit by hand” to move, resize or change tiles yourself. Whether you may create dashboards depends on the builder policy set in Cortex Control.

A Pivot is a tile type: an expandable breakdown where each level asks for its own figures, so subtotals are always correct. Ask the assistant for a pivot. In the pivot properties set how many levels are open on first view and the rows per node. A Drill path lets a click on a value continue with the next field, filtered to what was clicked: select the tile and choose “Add a level” under Drill path.

Press Check to validate the dashboard (it lists problems and warnings). Then press Publish. The message says “Published as version” and the number, or “Sent for review”: in that case a second person has to approve it before it goes live, for example for a dashboard shown to the whole organisation that uses financial or personal data. Versions lists earlier versions; you can compare a version with the draft and restore it.

How do I share a dashboard or choose who can open it?

Section titled “How do I share a dashboard or choose who can open it?”

Open the Access view of the dashboard (“Who can open this dashboard”). Visibility is Restricted, Whole organisation or Discoverable. Discoverable puts the title, description and owner on the Hub shelf for people who cannot open it, so they can ask for access; they never see data. Only the owner or IT can change who can open it.
